Stepping Into Stories is an ambitious, top quality festival, run by a small team of committed, energetic book-lovers (all wearing various creative hats!):
-
Lucy Reynolds: children's author and longtime community project manager for Station Hall Herne Hill and the Herne Hill Forum
-
Mo O’Hara: children’s author, actor and storyteller and lead member of Children’s Writers and Illustrators for Stories and Literacy
-
Margaret Bateson-Hill: children’s author and storyteller and lead member of Children’s Writers and Illustrators for Stories and Literacy
-

The Festival is run by and for the community through a partnership between Station Hall Herne Hill, CWISL, and Tales on Moon Lane Bookshop. It is supported by the wider Station Hall and Herne Hill Forum teams, and an army of local volunteers, schools and businesses who roll up their sleeves together to make amazing things happen!
The following fantastic funders have made the festival possible:
-
2019: The Mayor’s Office, Good Growth Fund
-
2020: Thames Water Flood Relief Fund, Herne Hill Forum
-
2022: Arts Council England, The Aviva Community Fund, Mighty Hoopla Community Award
The Herne Hill Kids’ Lit Fest is an essential element in the campaign to raise funds to make Station Hall fully accessible. By supporting the Festival, you help to prove the potential of Station Hall to deliver far-reaching, positive social impact, and in doing so support our bid to fund full accessibility works at Station Hall.
