About The Event

Join us for a pre-loved clothing swap and mending session. Bring the clothes you have buried at the back of your wardrobe, pass them on to a new owner and find something for yourself, too.  The focus of the event is sustainable fashion, so we will have drop-in mending sessions facilitated by lovely people who can share their skills and tips.  Guidelines For the Stitch: This is your chance to fix the clothes you want to keep, but need a little extra love & attention. Friendly helpers will be on hand to guide you - whether it’s sewing up hems, buttons or doing some visible mending. Basic resources will be provided but if you might need anything else (buttons, zips etc), please bring them!  For the Switch: Please bring as many items as you like - we welcome clothing of all genders and sizes. You will then receive a token for each piece of clothing you have contributed. From 1:30pm, you will have the opportunity to choose something new - 1 token for each new item.  If you don’t have anything to fix, there will be an area in the lovely hall to relax with free teas and coffees. Herne Hill market will be taking place just outside, so feel free to pop out to explore the local makers!  If you are bringing clothes to swap, please ensure they meet the below guidelines: - Anything you bring should be clean and in good, wearable condition  - No underwear, swimwear, or jewellery please! Any items leftover at the end will be taken to a charity shop, unless you’d rather claim something back. If you have any questions, get in touch with us at fieldclubarts@gmail.com.
